Way back when, in 1984, after graduating from North Central High School in Indianapolis, I left my hometown to attend Berklee College of Music. After three years in Boston I decided it was time for me to learn first-hand how it is to start a band and hit the road, so I decided then, in the summer of ’87 to come back home to Indiana. That’s when I began a career of playing acoustic and electric guitars as ‘tour support’ or a ‘side man’ as they say, and eventually, this grew into doing studio sessions as well. Most of these recordings were (and still are) really fun to make and some of these projects I’ve been lucky enough to work on, have been nationally released.
I’ve been blessed to play with some very skilled, creative, and good folks over the years. And I have also toured the United States extensively in support for these artists and more, playing events such as Farm Aid IV, being the opening act for The Moody Blues in the summer of 1990 (as member of the Jimmy Ryser Band), Newport Folk Festival (with Carrie Newcomer) and more recently being the opening act for O.A.R. (as member of the Ari Hest band).
Also, and in between all this, in the early 90’s, I co-founded the band Medicine Wheel, based out of central/southern Indiana which produced two locally acclaimed CD’s: “Blame It On The Moon” and “Pure And Simple”.
And I must mention another band I co-founded in Bloomington, IN – Blue Sky Back, which in 2008 released its self-titled debut album.
These days, I’m focusing my musical energies to composing and recording music and playing with my band, who is: Heather Craig on violin, Gonzalo Dies on drums/percussion and Rob Calder on bass.
